Invisalign® is a form of braces that use clear tray aligners. They’re made of Invisalign’s own blend of plastic and manufactured in their own facilities based on a digital scan of your teeth. The aligners are a solid piece of plastic that is strong enough to put pressure on specific parts of your teeth to slowly move them into a better position. Not only are the aligners invisible, but they are also removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are easier. What Is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® treatment uses a series of virtually invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that allow you to smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign® clear aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology and have been proven effective.
Invisalign® is 100% customized to your unique orthodontic requirements. Each aligner is custom-made out of clear, smooth and flexible SmartTrack® material that is not only comfortable to wear around the clock, but is virtually invisible. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements Dr. Jones plans out for you.
Invisalign® is a great treatment option to correct mild to moderate cases of overcrowding, overbite, underbite and gaps between teeth. Although it is more discreet than traditional braces, Invisalign® requires dedication on the part of the patient and it should be worn exactly as prescribed. In general, Invisalign® needs to be worn at least 22 hours a day to be the most effective and produce optimal smile results.
Though Invisalign® aligners look like clear retainers, they actively move your teeth into an ideal position. Retainers simply hold your teeth in place.

Important Facts about your Aligners:
In order for your treatment to stay on track, you must wear your aligners for 22 hours every day. You may need attachments bonded to any teeth that need particular correction. These SmartForce attachments are small tooth-colored shapes that are attached to your teeth before or during your Invisalign® treatment. They’re like handles, giving aligners something to gently push on. Invisalign® clear aligners fit smoothly and tightly around them, so they’re barely noticeable. Additionally, elastics, or rubber bands, are an important part of most Invisalign® treatments. The elastics connect your top and bottom teeth by attaching onto a specialized hook built into the aligners or onto attachments on the teeth.
How Does Invisalign® Work?
Patients wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Jones has prescribed. You’ll visit Dr. Jones about once every 12 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Aligner treatment is not recommended for everyone, so please schedule a complimentary consultation to see if Invisalign® is right for you.
